Dr. Zachary Reynard came to optometry from a career at a Fortune 500 technology company, drawn to the field by his own experience as a dry eye patient. Over the decade since, dry eye has been a major focus of his clinical work.

He graduated cum laude from the Advanced Scholars Program at the Salus Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where he served as class president. He went on to complete a residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the UAB School of Optometry, followed by a fellowship and Master of Science in dry eye disease and meibomian gland dysfunction under Dr. Kelly Nichols, a global leader in ocular surface research. During his fellowship, he practiced at a dedicated dry eye specialty practice in Birmingham.

Today his practice centers on dry eye disease and related ocular surface conditions, alongside comprehensive primary eye care. He has served as an investigator on multiple FDA dry eye clinical trials and sits on the medical advisory board of the Acanthamoeba Keratitis Eye Foundation, which advocates for patients affected by this rare corneal disease.

A San Francisco Bay Area native, Dr. Reynard completed his undergraduate studies at UC Santa Barbara and most recently served patients at a boutique optometry clinic in Santa Barbara, home to the city's leading dry eye specialty service, before joining Optique in Nashville. Outside of work, he is a guitarist and songwriter — a pursuit that made Nashville a particularly fitting place to call home.
